About Rocky Hill Stables
Barbara and Alan Robbins have owned and operated Rocky Hill Stables, LLC boarding facility since 2000. It has evolved into a full-service facility offering both pasture and full board on the nearly 20-acre farm. The Robbins’ own 6 horses and have enjoyed trail riding recreationally since 1999. Barbara has owned her own horses and ridden from an early age. Alan and Barbara both enjoy the care, training and riding involved in owning horses, as well as the relationships built with their boarders who become like family in many ways. Rocky Hill Stables has proven to be a great place for area college students to board their horses, with a home away from home atmosphere and convenience to JMU, EMU and Bridgewater. This family friendly place provides seasonal cookouts and barn trail rides in addition to the routine care of the horses.
Alan and Barbara have three sons living at home that join in the work of running the farm. On the side Alan works as a Family Dentist in the nearby community of Timberville. Barbara works with her riding partner, Debbie Bahr, in offering leadership training clinics using the horses.
